When my husband retired and we moved to New Mexico I also "retired" from making and selling jewelry. I quickly got very bored and decided to take up sandblasting. I knew nothing about it other than I loved the way it looked! I still don't know a lot, but I'm learning. I joined several online groups and received enormous assistance from the members. I bought a compressor, pressure pot, blast cabinet, grit, dust collector, stencil material and an ultraviolet light box to make the stencils. I practiced. A lot! I've blasted/etched (the words are used interchangeably) all types of designs into different media; stone, tile, glass. I made a set of Southwestern design coasters and sold them to a shop in Taos, NM. I am going to concentrate on dogs and Southwestern designs.
